Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has inspected and issued violations to nine establishments including restaurants and cafes, for practicing activities without obtaining the necessary permits in Dhofar Governorate.
"Within the framework of following up on tourist establishments, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism issued a number of violations against nine tourist establishments in Dhofar Governorate that practiced the activities without obtaining the necessary permits, this is considered a violation of Article 49 of the executive regulations of the Tourism Law," the Ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry calls upon all unlicensed establishments to stop practicing the activity until obtaining the necessary approvals and licenses in order to avoid taking legal measures in accordance with the executive regulations of the Tourism Law.
Article 49 of the Tourism Law stated that restaurants and cafes shall apply to the Ministry for tourist classification in the following cases:
They are located within a hotel facility, if they are located on tourist land and if they are administered through franchise contracts. Restaurants and cafes, other than those provided for in the first paragraph of this Article, may apply to the Ministry for tourist classification.
In all cases, classified restaurants and cafes shall comply with the regulations issued by the Minister in this regard.
