Muscat: Under the auspices of Sheikh Al Zubair bin Mohammed Al Zubair, Adatee Hayatee Group recently held the opening of the tenth art exhibition in the Hall of Arts and Soul Gallery in the Seef Complex in Shatti Al Qurum. The exhibition is held in memory of Mona Bint Al-Ameri, a former member and plastic artist, who despite her hearing impairment, mesmerised all by her impeccable art and immense creativity. The main aim of the exhibition is to highlight the artistic talents of the members of the Adatee Hayatee Group by providing them the right platform to showcase their work.
The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of Sheikh Al Zubair bin Mohammed Al Zubair. He praised the art and the intelligence of the artists and said that with their persistence and perseverance, they would be able to reach to the international standards in the days ahead.
Highlighting on the exhibition, Laila bint Mohammed Al-Wahaibi, the general supervisor of the exhibition, said, “Adatee Hayatee Group includes a number of talented people with disabilities, with the aim of introducing the society to their artistic and creative side.”
She added that this was the tenth exhibition of the group, which not only revealed the success of the group but also helped them in showcasing their work in important places such as the Royal Opera House, Al Mouj Muscat, Sultan Qaboos University, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), and the Omani American Business Center since the establishment of the group in 2014.
Nine artists, including a photographer and a sculptor, are participating in the exhibition, and 33 works of art are on display. Keeping in mind the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, that is commemorated on December 3 every year, the exhibition is being held to highlight the capabilities of people with disabilities.
During the opening ceremony Laila Al-Wahaibi concluded with a word of thanks and appreciation to Al Mumayaz Group, Mohsin Haider Darwish LLC, Gateaux Oman and the young volunteer photographers for their role in the success of the tenth edition of the exhibition.
Adatee Hayatee Group was established in 2014 as one of the social responsibility initiatives of Omantel to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This exhibition will be open to visitors until December 28 at the Art & Soul Gallery. This is also an opportunity for the public and artists to visit the exhibition and acquire the paintings displayed to support the Adatee Hayatee Group.
