Mwasalat celebrates 50th anniversary

Muscat: Mwasalat launches electronic mobility tickets linked to the smart transportation system, during its celebration of the 50th anniversary of its establishment

The Oman National Transport Company "Mwasalat", during its celebration of the 50th anniversary of its founding, signed four memorandums of cooperation and partnership with a number of government and private agencies.

The electronic mobility tickets associated with the smart transportation system targets a number of categories of society and different age groups, including special packages for people with special needs, the elderly, students, youth and families. It includes a group of promotional packages, self-preparation trip planning service, tracking your trip, electronic payment service, and fixed-term tickets weekly, monthly and annual tickets.

The memorandums represented the signing of a commercial agreement with the "OTE" group to start pilot projects for vehicles that run on clean energy, and a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Social Development to train and qualify 100 drivers from Al-Wafa centers for rehabilitation persons with disabilities.

The ceremony included signing a memorandum of understanding with the International College of Engineering and Technology to train Omani youth looking for work to promote entrepreneurship in the field of vehicle repair and maintenance and entering into a strategic partnership with Sultan Qaboos University to test biofuel in their vehicles and promote renewable energy initiatives, and entered into a partnership with the "OTE" group, the exclusive agent for Hyundai vehicles, to carry out pilot tests for hydrogen-powered vehicles and to study the establishment of an integrated system to support hydrogen vehicles in the future in order to achieve the Sultanate's goals in the field of clean energy and the sustainability strategy of the Asyad Group.
