BankDhofar inks agreement with Dalilee to provide soft POS service

Muscat: BankDhofar and Dalilee recently signed an agreement for payment solutions. The agreement was mutually signed by Dr Amjad Iqbal Al Lawati, Chief Retail Banking Officer, at BankDhofar, and Dawood Sulaiman Al Amri, CEO of Dalilee, with the presence of executive management team members. As part of the agreement, BankDhofar will provide Dalilee with an innovative Soft POS payment solution.

Upon signing the agreement, Amjad Iqbal Al Lawati, Chief Retail Banking Officer at BankDhofar, said: “We are proud to sign the agreement with Dalilee to provide them with the first of its kind payment solution in the Sultanate. This partnership illustrates our ongoing support to the SME sector. In a short time, Dalilee became one of the well-recognised Omani delivery SMEs, and we are confident that our solution will reflect positively on their operations and enhance the customer experience. At BankDhofar, providing innovative products, services, and solutions to our customers has always been our priority, and we look forward to furthering similar agreements.”

BankDhofar realises the importance of integrating new technologies into its business. The first-of-its-kind solution in the Sultanate is a low-cost, maintenance-free solution that allows merchants to accept payments quickly and conveniently through their NFC-enabled Android devices.

Dawood Sulaiman Al Amri, CEO of Dalilee, stated, “Signing this agreement is within the company’s strategy to strengthen the technological transition in daily receivable and withdraw the manual financial transactions. We seek to provide a convenient solution for our customers through providing a soft POS payment solution using a mobile phone by courier drivers and receptionists in all governates. This agreement expresses the bonds of partnership and institutional cooperation between Dalilee and leading private sector institutions such as BankDhofar in achieving the economic goals and Parallels set by Oman Vision 2040.”

With the Soft POS solution, businesses can accept payments from any contactless-enabled card or mobile wallet from their NFC-enabled Android device. Items can be selected on the mobile application, where the merchant can receive the payment using their mobile or tablet device as a point of sale (POS) device. The service requires no additional hardware and delivers quick and convenient payment experiences. Merchants also have the option to send the payment receipt via email or SMS. In addition to these innovative services, the Bank has always been at the forefront of supporting FinTech initiatives; understanding that FinTech is the future of the financial sector.
