Muscat: More than 200,000 meals were distributed among needy families in the Sultanate of Oman by a Muscat-based charity association, Nidaa Al Khair, in association with Protiviti Oman, a global consulting firm.

Reaching out to the needy families by providing them meals is one of the noblest causes and Nidaa Al Khair is an Oman-based organisation that promotes charitable work in all humanitarian aspects.

Protiviti had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nidaa Al Khair, and they completed by December 10 distributing meals among the underprivileged families that are affected by challenging times.

A total of 170 boxes along with bags of flour and rice were provided to 170 families and a total of 1,020 individuals were benefited that was equivalent to more than 200,000 meals.

As part of Protiviti’s CSR initiatives, ‘i On Hunger’, the project aims to distribute millions of meals around the world to help alleviate hunger.

Shatha Al Maskiry, Managing Director of Protiviti Oman, said:“We are grateful to God that we have stayed strong as a firm, and we translate this gratitude by continuing to partner with Nidaa Al Khair as a socially responsible firm that continues to give back to our community, as well as to thriving to repeatedly raise the bar of our achievements, by distributing more meals every year.

“This year, we managed to distribute around 224,956 meals. The participation of our business partners, clients, friends, families and alumni was inspiring but more so, involving children truly reflected the values and unity of our Omani society and the humanitarian principles we instil in them from a very young age.”

Faiza Al Rashdi, Managing Director of the Nidaa Charity Team, said: “The Nidaa Charity Team strives to improve the living standards of underprivileged families in Bausher. This initiative sponsored by Protiviti Oman, has been carried out for the sixth time, which indicates the importance of continuous giving and solidarity.”

Rahma Al Amri, operations manager of Nidaa Charity, said: “It is heartwarming that Protiviti instils among its employees the love of giving and helping others by delivering food packages to underprivileged families. All thanks and appreciation for the efforts made and we hope Protiviti will continue the process of giving to underprivileged families so they can have a decent family life.”
