Muscat: The Golden Tulip Nizwa Hotel recently sponsored the 2022 'Himam Mountain Run', which this year witnessed the participation of 570 male and female runners in distances of 100 km, 55 km and 25 km from 45 countries, and about two thousand participants in children's car races.
The closing ceremony was held in Nizwa, and its awards were distributed under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Muhammad bin Salem Al Said.
Moroccan Rasheed Al-Mourabiti took the lead in the biggest race (Challenge of the Hajar Mountains) in a time of 16 hours and 2 minutes, followed by Omani runner Hamdan Al-Khatri in second place, with a difference of 7 minutes, to cross the finish line in 16 hours and 9 minutes, and thirdly, Moroccan Rachid Al-Amrani, who reached the finish line in 16 hours. 1 hour 11 minutes. During the award ceremony, the sponsors were honored, and the honorary award for the hotel was received from His Highness Sayyid Mohammed bin Salem Al Said, Sundeep Jaitly, CEO of Ubar Resorts and Hotels, and General Manager of the Golden Tulip Nizwa Hotel.
After receiving the award, the General Manager of the Golden Tulip Nizwa Hotel, Sandeep Jaitly, said: We are happy to be sponsors of this important international tourism sporting event, which is one of the annual sporting events that witnesses an international presence from several countries around the world, and it is not only a sporting event, but It is also a tourism destination and has a significant positive impact on tourists in the Sultanate.

He said, "We are part of Hemam Mountain Climbing for the third year, and praised the development that took place during a short period, both in terms of increasing the distances, as the walk started with distances of 25 , 50 and 70 km, and during this year's edition it was increased to 100 km, as well as in terms of Increasing the number of participating countries, which reached participants from 45 countries around the world, and this event, with continued support in the future, will witness more participation, both in terms of numbers and participation of countries, which is what puts it on the global map for this type of important events and races.
He said in this edition, we also noticed the participation of a larger number of Omani youth, and the good thing is that we found that they are of both sexes, men and women, and we also noticed that in the final results of the race and in its various categories, a large number of winners are among the top 10 for each category of Omanis, and this is an addition An important development for the event, because it helps in many levels, whether sports, tourism, social, social and others.
