Star hotels in Oman see massive jump in revenues

Muscat: The revenues of 3 to 5 star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman exceeded OMR 138 million till the end of October 2022. 

The National Center for Statistics and Information revealed a significant increase in the revenues of hotels with a rating of 3 to 5 stars, by 96.6 percent until the end of October 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, to reach OMR 138,205,000.

The number of guests in hotels with a rating of 3 to 5 stars increased by 32.5 percent until the end of October 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, while the occupancy rate recorded a growth of 19.1 percent until the end of October 2022.

The number of GCC guests recorded a significant growth of 521.6 percent, from 20,778 at the end of October 2021 to 129,150 until the end of October 2022, followed by European guests, whose number grew by 446.8 percent from 44,855 at the end of October 2021 to 245, 262 until the end of October 2022. While the number of Omani guests decreased by 15.1 percent, from 691,492 guests at the end of October 2021 to 586,851 until the end of October 2022. 

The number of American guests until the end of October 2022 was about 64,249, registering an increase of 201.5 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

The number of guests from the African continent reached 6,733, with a growth rate of 95.8 percent compared to the same period in 2021. The number of Asian guests also increased by 47.7 percent, from 112,588 guests until the end of October 2021 to 166,245 during the same period this year 2022.
