HM confers Excellent Service, Royal Commendation medals on SAF personnel

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, has conferred the medals of Excellent Service and Royal Commendation on a number of commissioned, non-commissioned officers and personnel of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and other departments at the Ministry of Defence and Royal Guard of Oman (RGO).

HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs pinned the medals on the meritorious military officers and civil personnel in recognition for their loyalty in serving the nation and performing the sacred duty.

The felicitation ceremony, held at Al Murtafa’a Garrison here today, was attended by Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Za’abi, Secretary General at the Ministry of Defence, Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), Maj.Gen Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), Air Vice Marshal Khamis Hammad Al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), Maj.Gen Salim Ali Al Hosni, Commander of the Royal Guard of Oman(RGO), Air Vice Marshal Eng. Saleh Yahya Al Maskari, Head of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies and Maj.Gen Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Commandant of the National Defence College at the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies.
