Alizz Islamic Bank wins Award for the Best Islamic Banking Awareness & Outreach Program

Muscat : Alizz Islamic Bank recently won the Best Islamic Banking Awareness & Outreach Program Award for the umbrella program ‘Manar Alizz’ at the Islamic Banking and Finance Forum 2022 which was organised by Alam al-Iktisaad Wal Aamal under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Faher bin Fatik Al Said at the Crowne Plaza Muscat in the presence of officials and Islamic banking experts. The Award was received by Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghassani, Assistant General Manager and Chief Consumer Banking Officer, on behalf of the Bank.

‘Manar Alizz’ is Alizz Islamic Bank’s umbrella program to raise awareness of Islamic banking and it comes as part of the bank’s strategy to serve various segments both inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman such as researchers, university and educational institution students, various stakeholders and the public in general.

On the other hand, ‘Manar Alizz’ aims at building cognitive awareness of Islamic banking as well as the role of Islamic banks’ role in developing a sustainable economy, providing researchers and learners with important knowledge of shari’a compliant banking procedures in general and Islamic banking in Oman in particular, attracting researchers and learners from outside the Sultanate to learn about Islamic banking in Oman, educating the various sections of the society about the Islamic banking products, urging banking innovation, enabling the banking experts to have their respective cognitive contributions and accomplishing other objectives in the best interests of the society.

Commenting on the Bank’s win of this award, Mr. Issa bin Salim Al-Riyami, the Head of Sharia Audit & Compliance at Alizz Islamic Bank said: “ ’Manar Alizz’ is aimed at educating the various sections of the society about the Islamic banking products, urging banking innovation, enabling the banking experts to have their respective cognitive contributions and accomplishing other objectives in the best interests of the society. While this initiative is considered an intangible asset, it adds value to the organisation given its positive impact and good results for the society since such assets can be used in several ways to contribute to the development of society and business. We always endeavor to consolidate Alizz Islamic Bank as a well-established organisation that has pioneering initiatives that will be retained by the memory of the society and its various sections.”

Al Riyami added “The Islamic banking industry growth is highlighted by the increasing demand for sharia-compliant products not only from specialists and experts but also from investors and customers all over the world, which renders Islamic banking a global financial industry. In addition to its big geographic expansion, Islamic banking shows considerable expansion across the various financial sectors including personal banking, Takaful insurance and investments.”
