1. One injured in vehicle crash in Oman

A person suffered moderate injuries due to a vehicle crash in Al Dhahirah Governorate.

"The firefighting, rescue and ambulance teams of the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in Al-Dhahirah Governorate responded to a report of a vehicle crash and its ignition in the Falaj Al-Sudairiyin area in the Wilayat of Yanqul with an injured person. The teams were able to rescue him and take him to the hospital with a moderate injury," the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) said in a statement. 


2. People urged to donate blood in Oman

The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) has appealed to people with negative blood types to donate blood at the Central Blood Bank in Baushar in Muscat Governorate.

"We urge blood donors to donate today at the Central Blood Bank in Baushar, due to the sharp decrease in the levels of negative species," DBBS said in a statement.


3. One arrested for several thefts in North Al Batinah 

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested a person for committing seven theft crimes from several shops in North Al Batinah Governorate.

"North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command arrested a person for committing seven crimes of theft from several shops. The legal procedures are being completed against him." ROP said in a statement.


4. Smartphone-based e-voting for municipal council elections 

Voting for the municipal council elections for the third term will be via smart phones.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "The Ministry of the Interior announces that voting for the municipal council members’ elections for the third term will be via smart phones for voters inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman. In the coming days, the Ministry will clarify the voting steps."
