Muscat: Paving the way for development in the sector of the water and energy industry in Oman, Mazoun Electro-Mechanical Engineering Company (MEMCO) organized the third edition of its annual seminar in collaboration with ABB Measurement & Analytics which is among the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of smart instrumentation and analyzers. The seminar focused on development in the water sector, and reviewed the latest technological developments in that sector, at the CROWNE PLAZA Muscat Hotel.
MEMCO is a leading company in designing and implementing Electro-Mechanical works and control systems, and it is a major provider of professional engineering solutions to the water industry in the Sultanate since its inception in 2006. It has secured top business partnerships in providing Electro-Mechanical services and equipment around the world, and also is a local partner of these business partnerships on the global level such as ABB and Flowserve Corporation for pump industry that help it to achieve its advancements and goals in establishing a work team of engineers and technicians.
Highlighting the importance of these seminars that contribute to the development of the water and energy sector, Adnan Al-Nabulsi, Managing Partner – MEMCO noted, “Following the success of the second seminar which was organized by the Mazoun Company, in accordance with the Omani Government’s vision of developing the water and energy sector over the next few years, we decided to make this gathering an annual affair in Oman which would be beneficial for all concerned authorities in the development of this industry.”

The seminar on the development of water and energy strengthens the cooperation between relevant authorities in the private and public sector to unify all efforts and enhance communication between both sectors. The third edition of this annual seminar has proved the importance of these events in taking projects in the Sultanate to global standards.
The seminar saw attendance from a congregation of major suppliers, contractors and international companies who have invested actively in the sector. For the 2022 edition of the event, MEMCO teamed up with ABB Measurement & Analytics, the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of smart instrumentation and analyzers. With thousands of experts around the world and high-performance digital technology, ABB's team is dedicated to making measurement easy for its industrial and energy customers by providing the right data that helps them operate more efficiently and profitably. The seminar was also attended by representatives of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water; who mentioned their endeavor to revitalize the water and energy sector in accordance to the Government’s plans to deliver water supplies to 95% of population in 2030.

• The water supply project in Al Sharqiyah governorate from Sur to Sinaw including 18 pump stations with overall capacity of 3,800 m3/h
• The water supply project in BidBid, Fanja, and Sumil including 3 pump stations with overall capacity of 4,640 m3/h
• The Water supply project from Samil to Izki including two pump stations with capacity of 3,500 m3/h
• The water supply project in Wilatat of Quriyat including two pump stations and construction of control centre with a pump capacity of 300 m3/h.
• The construction of an additional tanker filling station in Al Sharqiyah governorate including five pump stations
