First forum of Omani women associations and charitable teams held in Al Dhahirah Governorate
The University of Technology and Applied Sciences in the Wilayat of Ibri in Al Dhahirah Governorate held the activities of the first forum of Omani women associations and charitable teams, organised by the Ministry of Social Development.
The forum included a set of events, as well as a scientific symposium, in which a number of participants and specialists from the Ministry of Social Development and charitable teams participated.
A number of working papers were also presented, dealing with "the role of associations between reality and ambition", "the role of the media in promoting voluntary efforts", "empowering entrepreneurs in private sector institutions", "the role of electronic media in enriching volunteer work", “charitable teams experiences”, and the experience of the Omani Women Association in Yanqul in the various activities implemented by the association.
The forum, which was held under the auspices of His Excellency Sheikh Mohsen bin Hamad Al Maskari, Wali Ibri, included the opening of an exhibition for productive families and Omani women associations in the governorate. It contained a group of pillars that varied between food products, handicraft industries, household products, and projects of small and medium enterprises.
Activities of cultural week launched in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate
The activities of the cultural week were launched at the Nizwa Cultural Center under the slogan "Towards Sustainable Cultural Development". It will continue until the 13th of December.
The cultural week includes a number of activities, including theatrical arts, science and technology, library activities, and the open day for women and children, with the participation of a number of government and private agencies, as well as libraries and civil cultural centers.
Shaikhan bin Rashid Al Abri, Assistant Director of the Culture and Youth Department in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and the supervisor of the cultural week, said: "The programme aims to develop young people's skills in various cultural aspects, and to enhance identity and citizenship through the implementation of works of an authentic Omani nature through plastic arts, national instrumentals and melodies, in addition to enabling partnership between the cultural center and other cultural institutions in the governorate."
