Leading entities in Oman win top technology awards

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology awarded leading companies and institutions in Oman awards in technological advancement in different fields for the year 2022.

Dr Ali Al-Shidhani, the Undersecretary of the Ministry presided over the Awards Ceremony at the Crown Plaza Hotel this week where a number of officials attended.

Two awards, one for Artificial Intelligence in Data Technology and the second, Best Use of Data in Internet of Things, were awarded to the National University.

PDO bagged three awards, Big Data and Analytics, Best Use of Data and Overall Best Technological Award.

Ooredoo won Best Data Centre Infrastructure and Vodaphone received the Best Cyber Security.  Huawei was awarded the Best Innovation Award.

“It is very important for Oman to keep up with the technological innovation and companies engaging in businesses in the country follow the best practices so we can be part of the international excellency in providing the best expertise in different fields,” Ali Al-Shidhani, the Undersecretary of Communications and Information Technology, told Times of Oman.

The organisers of the Awards are Oman International Trade and Exhibitions.
