Tender for dualisation of An’Nuzha Street floated

Muscat: As part of the development projects being implemented by the Muscat Governorate, the Muscat Municipality has floated a tender for dualisation of An’Nuzha Street in southern Mubeila area in Seeb.

The project consists, besides the dual carriageway, high-capacity traffic intersections, side protections, drainage systems for surface water, in addition to entry and exit points to serve the street.

The implementation will begin during the second quarter of 2023 and will continue for 24 months.

The project is to dualise An’Nuzha Street extending over 11 km and to construct 3.5 km of service streets and 6 large-capacity traffic intersections equipped with light signals. There will also be surface water drainage systems along the road and concrete channel extending over 2.5 km to drain out the water.

The drainage systems along the street and at crossings will serve to solve the problem of rainwater accumulating in the area with the help of some multicellular box culverts. The street will be lit by energy-saving LED lighting systems, traffic signs and road markings, in addition to tiling along the street.

The project aims to raise the traffic flow in that vital area and avoid traffic density at particular times, to develop the commercial and residential areas and to serve urban plans, facilities and neighbourhoods adjacent to the street.
