Muscat: Aphcarios Engineering Solutions, an Omani company has won the first place in the field of innovation in Automechanika Dubai 2022 exhibition.
Engineer Waleed bin Abdullah Al-Murshidi, Industrial Design Engineer at Aphcarios Engineering Solutions said: “We participated in the Automechanika Frankfurt exhibition, which is an international exhibition that takes place every two years in different capitals in the world.”
He added, “In this version, 1,154 companies from 50 different countries participated and competed in different fields. Our company competed in the field of innovation and received the first prize.”
Al-Murshidi pointed out that their product is considered the first of its kind in the world. It is an automatic awning integrated with a roof rack to serve four-wheel drive cars, camping, and alike. It is called ‘Warif Premium’ which is derived from the Arabic word ‘plentiful shade’ , and Premium being the media name of the product.
“This product was developed at the site of our establishment in Muscat Governorate, specifically in Mabela, by Omani engineers, and its development took place over four years of work. It is distinguished in several respects and has been tested in the Empty Quarter desert in harsh conditions and in winds exceeding 50 kilometres per hour,” Al-Murshidi added.
“Our company has five world first products, three of which have been launched commercially and are sold regionally and globally, and the fourth product is an awning that operates on solar energy, which will be launched very soon. The fifth product was previously announced a year ago but was not launched commercially due to lack of sponsors,” Al-Murshidi further added.
