1. Police thwarts smuggling operation of drugs

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has foiled an attempt to smuggle quantities of drugs into the Sultanate of Oman by three smugglers.

According to the ROP, the South Al Batinah Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the Coast Guard Police, arrested three infiltrators who were trying to smuggle quantities of drugs. Legal procedures against them are completed.

2. 20 infiltrators arrested for entering Oman illegally

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested 20 foreigners for entering the Sultanate of Oman illegally.

"Coast Guard police boats in North Al Batinah Governorate arrested 20 infiltrators of Asian nationality on board a smuggling boat. The legal procedures are being completed against them," ROP said in a statement. 

3. New species of fish documented in Oman

A new type of wetland fish was discovered in Khor Yiti in the Wilayat of Muscat.

Oman News Agency (ONA) reported that a new species of wetland fish is being recorded in the Sultanate of Oman, discovered by a joint research team between the Sultan Qaboos University and the Iranian Shiraz University in the shallow muddy waters of Khor Yiti in the Wilayat of Muscat.
