Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,460.59 points, down by 0.25 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.09 per cent at 461.91 points.
DIDIC, up 9.17 per cent, was the top gainer while, Phoenix Power, down 4.65 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of United Finance were the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Bank Muscat were the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 473 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR2.45 million, with more than 14.92 million shares changing hands.
Out of 40 traded securities, 13 advanced, 9 declined, and 18 remained unchanged.
At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR339,000 while domestic investors were net sellers for OMR254,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR85,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,139.87 points, down 0.14 per cent. Prices of DIDIC, United Finance, Ahli Bank, Ahlia Insurance, and OMINVEST were up by 9.17 per cent, 1.61 per cent, 1.48 per cent, 1.33 per cent, and 0.57 per cent respectively. Prices of National Bank Oman and Bank Muscat were down by 1.70 per cent and 1.68 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,086.39 points, up 0.01 per cent. Prices of Gulf Mushroom Products, Galfar Engineering and Voltamp Energy were up by 1.70 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 1.10 per cent respectively.
Prices of Raysut Cement and Oman Fisheries were down by 1.39 per cent and 1.00 per cent respectively.
Services Index was down by 0.18 per cent before closing at 1,529.96 points. Prices of Al Jazeera Services, Renaissance Services and National Gas were up by 3.85 per cent, 2.92 per cent and 0.89 per cent respectively. Prices of Phoenix Power, Sembcorp Salalah, Ooredoo, OIFC, and Barka Desalination were down by 4.65 per cent, 2.00 per cent, 1.50 per cent, 0.77 per cent, and 0.75 per cent respectively.
