Muscat: In an effort to create a better future for Omani women from different walks of life and to make them financially independent and self-reliant, Khimji Ramdas’s (KR) Eshraqa recently conducted ‘Ana Aqdar’ - a tailoring and fashion design training program, in partnership with the Omani Women Association, Muscat. This support is part of Eshraqa’s ‘Qudurat initiative’, which focuses on women’s empowerment and employability.

The two-month training program which began in September mentored ten women on various tailoring techniques using the sewing machines and tailoring tools provided by Eshraqa. The initiative culminated with a fashion show held at the Omani Women's Association in Muscat, under the patronage of Her Highness Sayyida Hujijah bint Jaifar Al Said, Chairperson of the Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children. The fashion show showcased costumes that were designed and sewn by the participants themselves.
