The Zubair Corporation has proudly announced the appointment of Ms Sharifa Al Balushi as the Group Head of Human Capital Center of Excellence.

This appointment is in line with The Zubair Corporation’s (TZC) vision and strategy to empower promising Omani talents and high potential employees to take over leadership, supervisory and specialized positions in line with their potentials and expertise in various fields.

Supported by the Taskforce for Empowering High-potential Omani Talents that was launched in 2021, this appointment continues the commitment of TZC and its various business sectors to provide talented employees with career advancement opportunities across the Group. Ms. Sharifa, the first Omani woman to lead the Human Capital (HC) Department at The Zubair Corporation, will be responsible for managing all human capital activities, workforce planning, talent management, performance management and all other HC related projects and initiatives. Ms. Sharifa will also oversee the development and enrichment of employees’ experience through the optimal investment of any HC digital solutions and to maximize the use of the new HC system from SuccessFactors in collaboration with all HR departments and sections across the Group.

Adil Ali Al Rahbi, Group Chief Transformation Officer (GCTO), said: “We congratulate Ms. Sharifa on her appointment as the Group Head of Human Capital Center of Excellence, as the first woman to hold this position at The Zubair Corporation”. He also pointed out that “TZC, as always, endeavors to provide opportunities for career advancement for the promising Omani cadre across the group”. Sharifa is one of the leading female professionals in the field of human resources as she joined the Zubair Investment Group in 2019, after having worked in several prominent companies in various sectors throughout her career of more than 16 years in the field.

Sharifa has actively participated with the human resources team at TZC working on a number of strategic projects such as digital transformation and comprehensive review of policies and procedures related to human resources. She holds a master’s degree in Global Human Resources Management from Liverpool University, UK in 2015 and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce & Economics from Sultan Qaboos University in 2006 in addition to a number of professional certifications in the field of Human Resources Management.
