Muscat: A Regional Cybersecurity Week kicked off. The event is being held simultaneously with the 10th Regional Cybersecurity Drill for Arab States and Member States in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The two-day event is organised by the Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
As many as 400 specialists from 45 countries are taking part in the event, themed 'Overview of Rapidly Developing Cybersecurity Threats'.
The event aims at enhancing communication and honing the skills of cyber-emergency response teams.
The drill includes a simulation of four scenarios developed by the Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre and the International Telecommunication Union.
This drill is tailored for national centres for cybersecurity and info-emergency, as well as cybersecurity teams at vital establishments in Arab countries and OIC centres.
The inaugural ceremony of the drill was held under the auspices of Dr Ali Amer Al Shidhani, Communications and Information Technology.
