2,000 wild plants planted in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate
The Environment Department in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate implemented a cultivation campaign for 2,000 wild plants, as part of the initiative to plant 10 million wild trees.
Fatima Al Muhaijri, an educator in the Environment Department in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, said: "The campaign comes in cooperation with the Liquefied Natural Gas Development Corporation, as part of the initiative to plant 10 million wild trees out of interest in Omani wild plants."
"The campaign aims to increase the green area in the environment and positively affect mental and physical health, as it helps reduce pollution and the occurrence of global warming through the work of agriculture to enhance oxygen levels as a result of photosynthesis and enhance the principles of ecological balance, " Al Muhaijri added.
Al Muhaijri explained that the campaign works to promote the principles of ecological balance as a result of the dependence of many animals and birds on agricultural residues to provide them with food instead of burning them and causing pollution to the soil and air.
Cultural season 2022 launched in North Al Batinah Governorate
The Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in North Al Batinah Governorate celebrated the launch of the cultural season 2022 in the governorate, amid a variety of artistic and cultural participation.
Nada bint Nasser Al Shaibani, Director of the Department of Culture, said that this year's cultural season is characterised by a diversity of activities, including artistic and cultural workshops, theatrical performances and cultural competitions, in addition to an exhibition of plastic arts, another of manuscripts, and a poetry evening in the love of the homeland.
"The cultural season 2022 aims to enhance the literary movement in society, develop creativity and innovation, and expand opportunities for creators, in addition to creating opportunities for communication with all segments of society and their interests," Al Shaibani added.
The launch of the cultural season was accompanied by the opening of an exhibition of fine arts, which included 38 art paintings, in which a number of fine artists participated in the governorate, in addition to an exhibition of manuscripts that included pages of old Omani manuscripts and the writing tools used in those manuscripts.
The launching ceremony was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Balushi, Deputy Wali of Sohar, and Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Yamdi, Director General of the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in North Al Batinah Governorate .
Governor of North Al Sharqiyah reviews charitable team in Ibra
His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Governor of North Al Sharqiyah , was briefed on the work of the Ibra charitable team, during the visit of his Excellency to the team, to learn about its experience in supporting projects of small and medium enterprises and home business owners in the Wilayat of Ibra.
During the visit, His Excellency learned about the roles that the team plays in creating job opportunities for Omani youth by adopting a number of commercial projects that are run by Omani hands and that achieve an appropriate return for families working in various commercial fields.
His Excellency was also briefed on the corners supported by the Ibra Charitable Team in various shops and economic projects, where he was briefed on the experience of selling popular foods made by a number of families who own home businesses, and the experience of selling and managing all kinds of meat from Omani youth, as well as getting acquainted with the "My Fabrics" project, which the team adopts in the field of sewing clothes.
