Muscat : An Omani student has won the first place in the Gulf Hackathon competition in the applications of artificial intelligence in general education which was held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
The student, Budoor bint Abdullah Al-Yafei, who is enrolled in the 11th grade at Raydan Private School, won the first place in the Gulf Hackathon competition in the applications of artificial intelligence in general education.
The contest was organised by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States in the capital, Riyadh, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement to the Oman News Agency(ONA), Al Yafei expressed her happiness for being chosen to represent the Sultanate of Oman in the Gulf Camp for Artificial Intelligence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In a related context, Ali bin Mahad Fadel, Head of the Innovation and Scientific Olympiad Department at the Directorate General of Education in the Governorate of Dhofar, said that the student, Budoor Al-Yafei, participated among a group of students from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, where the students received training in the applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning and their utilization in the field of education.
The competition aims to spread students’ experiences in artificial intelligence in education. In addition to building interdisciplinary experiences and disseminating and enhancing the concepts of artificial intelligence in the member states of the office through the transfer of the best advanced international experiences in this field.
