Muscat: The Technical Committee of the National Programme for the Digital Economy on Sunday held a meeting during which it reviewed executive programmes for space and technology and studied a visual display on updates of the executive programme of financial technology.
The tasks of the committee cover the analysis of technical studies, programmes and executive plans related to digital economy and ways to overcome common challenges prior to submitting the outcome to the Finance and Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers.
The committee also monitors performance indicators of each programme and operational plan, as well as means of linking the same with the digital economy goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Ali Amir Al Shidhani, Communications and Information Technology Undersecretary at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
The Technical Committee of the National Digital Economy Programme comprises undersecretaries tasked with digital economy from government institutions, including the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the National Centre for Statistics and Information, Oman 2040 Vision Follow-up Unit, Oman Investment Authority, the Central Bank of Oman, and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.
