Times of Oman/Al Shabiba Quiz 2022 mega prelims held

Muscat: The mega prelims of Times of Oman/Al Shabiba Interschool Quiz 2022 was conducted with much enthusiasm and keenness on Wednesday.

All the participating students put up a brave front and avidly worked for a berth in the grand finals.

The brilliance of students and the eclectic atmosphere at the venue were worth watching.

Ramesh, CEO of Orbit Events Management, said: “We congratulate all the schools and their students for such overwhelming participation. It was truly awesome to witness the close contest among some of the best brains in Oman.”

The schools qualifying for the grand finals in junior and senior English categories are as below:


Teams qualifying for Junior English Finals:

T1-Pakistan School Seeb:  Ahmed Nauman and Muhammad Hanzilla Imran.

T2-Indian School Ghubra: Ardra Menon and Goutham Menon.

T3-Ahmed bin Majid Private School:  Awab Wael Ghaith and Anas Saleh Jellali,

T4-ABQ: Sohar Mansoor Husefa and Immanuel Ehab,

T5-Indian School Salalah: Joel Paul Sabu and Zaina Fathima,

T6-International School Oman: Zeyaad Moulier and Mala Ait Al Laye,

T7-Indian School Muscat: Athary Bansal and Jothish Krishan,

T8-Indian school Muladha: Farazuddin Mohamned and Videw Wathruka.


Teams qualifying for Senior Finals:

T1- Sri Lankan School Muscat: Irfan Kamal  and Ahamed Gazzal,

T2- Indian School Wadi Kabir: Lael Alva and Shyan Nair,

T3- Indian School Al Ghubra: Alwin Jose and Atharv Dehedkar,

T4- Azzan bin Qais International School: Md. Al Farsi and Al Baraa Tariq,

T5- Indian School Darsait: Varun Nair and Geet A Patil,

T6- Indian School Muscat: Antal Siby and Santo Davis,

T7- Indian School Sohar: Monish Gangadharan and Harinandan Pehheri,

T8- Indian School Maabela: Jason Pinto and Alphin K Biju.

On Thursday, the mega prelims for Arabic finals will be conducted. Finals are scheduled on 28 October for English and on 29 October for Arabic language students at City Amphitheatre, Qurum.

The entry is free for visitors.
