Dhofar Education honors the team participating in the First Global International Competition
The Directorate General of Education in the Dhofar Governorate honoured the team representing the Sultanate of Oman in the “First Global” international competition that was held in the Federal Republic of Switzerland.
The participating team from Directorate General of Education won the "Safety" and "Social Media Challenge" awards. Sheikh Yaqoub bin Saif Al Shehimi, Director General of Dhofar Education, handed over the certificates to the team in the presence of a number of administrators and educators.
The First Global Competition is an annual global challenge that aims to spread the STEM educational system in technological sciences, engineering and mathematics, promote sustainable development concepts, and encourage young people to employ technology to serve the environment.
Al Noor Association for the Blind in Dhofar Governorate celebrates White Cane Safety Day and the World Sight Day
The branch of the Al Noor Association for the Blind in the Governorate of Dhofar organised a celebration on the occasion of the White Cane Safety Day and the World Sight Day, which is celebrated during the month of October of each year. The celebration comes to remind the world of the importance of the rights of people with visual disabilities to move through the use of the white cane, as they are considered a part of society.
The ceremony was sponsored by Musa bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, Director General of the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in the Governorate of Dhofar, in the presence of Awad bin Rajab Beit Shurouba, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al Noor Association for the Blind, Dhofar Governorate Branch, and the target group of people with visual disabilities.
Awad bin Rajab Fath Bait Sharrouba, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al Noor Association for the Blind, Dhofar Governorate Branch said: "Since its beginning in the Dhofar Governorate, the Al Noor Association for the Blind has sought to establish many training courses and various activities with the aim of enhancing knowledge of the blind in various fields so that they are an active part in society. "
Dr. Hanadi Omar Al-Bar, a specialist in ophthalmology at Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah, gave a lecture entitled: (Causes of blindness, "prevention and treatment"). Through it, she touched on eye diseases that are treated or that medicine cannot treat, in addition to the types of eye diseases, how they are infected, and how to treat them.
The Municipal Council of Musandam Governorate holds its eighth meeting for this year
The Municipal Council of Musandam Governorate held its eighth meeting this year under the chairmanship of His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said bin Ibrahim Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam and Chairman of the Municipal Council of the Governorate.
During the meeting, some responses to the council were reviewed, including the project plan of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology on (Khasab-Tibat) Street.
The council was briefed on the visual presentation submitted by the Directorate General of Health Services in Musandam Governorate on the comprehensive national survey of disease vectors.It reviewed business developments, including the internal roads in the Wilayat of Khasab affected as a result of the delivery of some services, in addition to the management, operation and development of Khasab Port for the company (Hitson Sohar).
The council was briefed on the project of designing the vegetable and fruit market in the Wilayat of Khasab, and a number of topics of interest to the governorate.
