1. Expats arrested for illegally burning wood in Oman

The Environment Authority has arrested expats for burning piles of wood for the purpose of producing packed charcoal for distribution and sale in South Al Batinah Governorate. 

A statement issued online by Environment Authority said :"The Environment Department in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police, arrests expatriate workers who burning piles of wood in order to produce packed charcoal ready for distribution and sale in the markets. The legal procedures are completed against them."

2. 5 people arrested for several thefts in Oman

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested five people for committing 12 thefts from several houses in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

ROP said in a statement: "The Department of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations, led by the Police of South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, was able to arrest five people on charges of committing 12 crimes of theft from several homes. The legal procedures are being completed against them."

3. Follow these rules during partial solar eclipse

To safely watch the partial solar eclipse tomorrow (2.50-4.58 pm), it is recommended to use eclipse glasses or binoculars and imaging devices equipped with solar filters and not to look at the sun for long.
