1. Over 200 granted Omani citizenship by Royal Decree

A Royal Decree has been issued by His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik to grant Omani citizenship to 216 expatriates.

2.  8 people injured in cooking gas explosion in Muscat Governorate

Eight people were injured due to the explosion of cooking gas at a restaurant in the Wilayat of Seeb, Muscat Governorate, Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA), said.

"The authority's teams in the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in the Governorate of Muscat responded to a momentary explosion of cooking gas in a restaurant in the Wilayat of Seeb, which resulted in the injury of eight people, their injuries ranged from severe to moderate, as emergency medical care was provided to them. They were transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment," CDAA said in a statement.

3. Are you ready for the solar eclipse?

The Sultanate of Oman will witness a partial solar eclipse on October 25, and it will last for about two hours and eight minutes. The partial solar eclipse will be seen in most parts of Europe, southwest Asia, northeastern Africa and part of the Atlantic Ocean. The eclipse begins at 2.50pm

4. Muscat Municipality raids a house in Seeb

The Muscat Municipality raided a house in the Wilayat of Seeb for carrying out unlicenced activity.

"The inspection unit of Muscat Municipality in Seeb raided a house in a residential complex being used by expat bachelors to carry out unauthorised business activity in an unhygienic environment violating the local order No. (92/23) on the organisation of residential buildings," the Municipality said in a statement.
