Muscat: Luck smiled on an Indian expatriate in Abu Dhabi when he won 1 kg gold (24 carat) in the Big ticket draw, just before Diwali, the Indian festival of lights.
Jaykumar Thirunavukarsu became the Abu Dhabi’s Big Ticket lottery winner after he bought two tickets and got one ticket for free. He won the lottery on a free ticket.
He had bought the tickets along with 18 other people on 16 October. Jaykumar is on cloud nine as he still can't believe that he has won the lottery.
Living in Abu Dhabi for the last three years, he had started buying Big Ticket raffles from 2019. According to the rules of the draw, whoever buys the ticket in October gets an opportunity to enter the weekly electronic draw and the winner is rewarded with one kg of gold.
