Muscat: The Ministry of Energy and Minerals will hold a press conference on Sunday (23 October 2022) to announce opportunities and incentives for investment in the green hydrogen sector, as well as the official launch of Oman Hydrogen Company.
The conference will outline Royal directives for the Sultanate of Oman’s achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050. It will also include the establishment of the Oman Sustainability Centre, to keep pace with global action towards reducing carbon emissions.
The ministry has taken important steps towards accelerating procedures for regulating the hydrogen sector, setting legal frameworks and policies necessary for its growth and allocating appropriate sites for its production. The move is aimed at attracting investments, localizing green hydrogen technology and conducting studies necessary for its realization.
The carbon management outputs are an important step that will reflect positively on Oman to achieve carbon neutrality (zero carbon emissions).
