The Student Engineering Club at University of Buraimi Organizes an Induction Program for New Engineering Students

Highlighting the significance of student clubs at university, the Student Engineering Club at University of Buraimi organized an induction program for new students who joined the Faculty of Engineering at the beginning of the current semester (Fall 2022-2023).

The program included interactive corners for different departments in the Faculty of Engineering, in which a number of faculty members and students participated. Each corner showcased its respective field of specialization and projects. For example, the Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a workshop (Moto mech) in one of the mechanical laboratories at the university, which introduced new students to a number of equipment available in the laboratory and their operation.

These scientific corners were also accompanied by entertainment and marketing activities including a corner for the sale of flowers, hosting some restaurants and cafes, and offering discount and free coupons to students in the engineering questions and puzzles corner. The program received great interaction and appreciation from the attendees.

Iman bint Khamis Al-Hadi, President of the Student Engineering Club, stated that the club, which is supervised by the Student Affairs Department, always contributes to enriching university life by providing remarkable events that serve the students of University of Buraimi. During this orientation event, students were given comprehensive information about the club, its objectives and its most important activities and events. Also, club membership registration was available to students online via an electronic link dedicated to this purpose.

Notably, the Faculty of Engineering at University of Buraimi consists of the following departments: Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Interior Architecture, Information and Communication Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Engineering, as well as two master's programs, namely Cybersecurity and Engineering Management.
