Muscat: The Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, in the State of Qatar, announced the winners of the Katara Prize for Arabic Fiction in its eighth session.
The novel "Dilshad, The Biography of Hunger and Satisfaction" by the Omani writer Bushra Khalfan won the Arab Novel Award published alongside the Algerian Ezzedine Jalaouji for his banner "The Embrace of Snakes".
The winning author will be awarded a sum of up to $50,000, in addition to translating her winning novel into English.
