Muscat: The President of Zanzibar has visited the Qarun shrimp farming project in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate on Thursday, October 14, 2022.

Dr. Hussain Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar, visited a shrimp farming farm in the Qarun area in the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Buhasan in the South Sharqiyah Governorate, as part of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

During his visit, the guest was briefed on the stages of shrimp farming, starting from the hatching and the incubation stage to the fattening stage, along with the 220 shrimp production basins, where area of ​​each basin is half a square hectare. This project represents an economic activity that contributes to increasing production of fiishery in the Sultanate of Oman.

In a statement to the Oman News Agency, Dr. Hussain Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar, expressed his happiness to visit the Sultanate of Oman, describing it as "fruitful".

He said that his visit to the shrimp farm is an opportunity to discover many areas of cooperation with the Omani Investment Authority, whether they are investments in Tanzania or Zanzibar in particular.

He expressed his admiration for this as well as the many projects he saw during his visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
