Holidays spark off five-day bargains bonanza in Oman

Muscat: The dual holiday announcements of National Day and the birthday of the Prophet (PBUH) have sparked a rash of offers and deals.
Residents are already making plans for the vacation from December 1 to 5. Taking a cue, hotels have been quick to sanction special offers for the much awaited five-day break.

Those looking to visit Dhofar during the vacation can take advantage of Salalah Rotana Resort's offer of rooms for a special price of OMR50, subject to 17 per cent in taxes. The regular price is OMR60 in addition to the same tax rates. The deal is available on December 2 and 3.

In Musandam, the Golden Tulip Hotel is offering their deluxe and pool garden rooms with a complimentary breakfast at a discounted rate of OMR35 on December 3 and 4. The rent is inclusive of all taxes. The same would have cost OMR45 during the rest of the year, said Selvyn Coutinho, the front office manager of the hotel.
Crowne Plaza Duqm is offering special rates from November 30 until December 15. A sea view room will cost OMR47 in addition to 17 per cent in taxes. The regular price is OMR65 in addition to the same tax rates.
Intercontinental Hotel has begun offering rooms at the slashed price of OMR47. The special price will be valid up to December 3.
Vijay Handa, cluster general manager, Masirah Island Resort and the Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve, said: “I am fully confident that national day holidays will bring in more tourists from Oman and GCC countries. This will surely boost the current situation,” he said.
“Though there are only few rooms left, Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve is available for OMR85 net for a room and OMR95 for an eco luxury tent. The family tents are available for OMR150,” he said.
Rooms at Masirah Island Resort are available for OMR75, suites for OMR100 and a chalet where four people can stay is available from OMR150 per night.
Dunes by Al Nahda Resort will offer luxury tents at around OMR95 up to December 4. This is inclusive of breakfast and lunch. A royal tent can be had at OMR189.5 over the same time period. "This category will include breakfast, lunch, a barbecue under the stars and a 15 minute camel ride besides beverages. We expect an occupancy of more than 85 per cent," Mary Ann Roberta, Director of marketing and developement, said.
Al Nahda Resort and Spa is offering executive suites at OMR49. It includes breakfast. One can pay OMR69 and get complementary dinner as well.
Al Khalab Restaurant , which is a part of the Al Nahda Resort, will be offering a buffet dinner at OMR12. If you pay for three people, the fourth diner gets to eat for free.
Muscat-based Grand Millennium Hotel has already begun offering the slashed price of OMR47 (excluding taxes) for its classsic rooms. On a regular day, the same rooms would cost you anywhere between OMR60 and OMR80. The offer will be valid from November 16 to December 2.
