Majan Electricity Company Launches “Turn it off” Campaign to Raise Awareness on Electricity Consumption

Majan Electricity Company has launched a campaign by the name ‘Turn it off’ in efforts to raise awareness regarding conserving electricity which started in July. The purpose of this campaign is to build a society that is well aware of the importance of sustaining energy sources. The campaign has up to now showed high engagement among the customers and the general public.

The campaign included a description on high quality electrical appliances and the role they play in the reduction of the amount of monthly electrical consumption which in turn reduces the monthly bill. The reason behind the campaign is to help people in the society conserve electricity by changing their behavior towards electricity consumption and involving them in the shared responsibility of reserving the national wealth. Another aim of this campaign is to help preserve the environment. This can be done by reducing the emission of toxic gases from power generating fuels and reducing the loads on power stations. This is to ensure continuity of electrical services without the risk of power outages during peak hours. This will also help reduce global warming. Additionally, the company sought to raise awareness on the tangible benefits of raising energy efficiency and present the best methods for achieving energy efficiency and provide customers with the necessary knowledge and tools for energy consumption.

The campaign specifically focused on sending messages to raise awareness on the excessive use of electricity in the form of a video and a series of tips that were posted on social media in September in order to consolidate the concept of sustainability in the environmental, social and economical fields. In addition, Majan Electricity Company offered several workshops to educate its employees on saving electricity and paper within their offices.

Furthermore, Majan Electricity company in corporation with the Ministry of Education offered lectures to raise awareness about the conservation of electricity and electricity hazards in schools that are under the services of the company in order to educate future generations on the importance of electrical safety.
