Preliminary qualifiers for Sultan Qaboos Holy Qur’an Competition begins in Oman
The Preliminary Qualifiers Committee for the Sultan Qaboos Holy Qur’an Competition in its 303 session started its work in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, with the participation of 256 contestants from different wilayats of the governorate. It will last for four days.
Ali bin Nasser Al-Daghari, supervisor of the Sultan Qaboos Holy Qur’an Competition at Nizwa Center, said:"The competition includes 7 different levels, and is a motive for the participants to pay attention to the Book of God Almighty and compete in its memorisation and mastery ."
"The competition seeks to qualify glorified reciters of the Holy Qur'an, perfect for its performance, to enhance the presence of the Sultanate of Oman in international Qur'anic competitions," Al-Daghari added.
Al-Daghari also said that it is expected that 80 participants will be evaluated per day for four days in two shifts, morning and evening.
It is worth noting that the competition is organised by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science at the Diwan of Royal Court, in 25 centers distributed in various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
School Olympic days competitions programme continues in Dhofar Governorate
The Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah continues the school Olympic days competitions organised by the Directorate General of Education in the Governorate of Dhofar represented by the School Sports Committee. The programme will continue until October 26, 2022.
The sports programme in which the school students participate includes athletics competitions (100m-200m-400m), long jump, high jump, push-up and shot put, in addition to badminton, table tennis, basketball (3x3), and chess tournament.
The programme comes within the plan of the School Sports Committee in the Governorate of Dhofar for the current academic year, which also includes the Schools Cross Country Championships, the Sports Festival and the School Bowling Festival, in addition to the school beach games championship and a sports event for students.
Administrative forum on decentralisation held in North Al Batinah
The “Governorates' Employees and their Role in Implementing Decentralisation” forum was held in Sohar and discussed the requirements for the success of administrative and economic decentralisation in structures, laws and competencies, which was organised by the Omani Society for Human Resources Management in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour.
The event was sponsored by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah.
Dr. Ghaleb bin Saif Al Hosani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Omani Society for Human Resources Management, said: "The forum comes to achieve a number of goals, including the importance of developing human resources, and providing them with the necessary functional skills that are commensurate with the application of decentralisation, which contributes to achieving balanced development and raising the efficiency of human resources in the governorates. "
The forum included seven main themes presented by 14 speakers from human resources specialists in academic, governmental and private sector institutions. The first axis came about the role of governorate employees in implementing decentralisation, and the second axis was about "decentralisation as one of the requirements of the modern economic and technical environment, while the third axis reviewed the best administrative practices for the success of decentralization.
As for the fourth axis, it came about the requirements and obstacles to the use of decentralisation in achieving comprehensive development in the governorates in light of some international experiences, the fifth axis on the application of decentralisation, and the sixth axis on decentralisation in training and development strategies.
While the seventh axis discussed the application of administrative and economic decentralisation and its integrative role in the development process.
North Al Sharqiyah Governorate holds equestrian festival
An equestrian festival was organised at the track of the village of Al-Jarda in the Niyabat of Samad Al-Sha’an in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi, North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, with the participation of more than 50 horses from different wilayats and governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
The festival included holding a short challenge race, presenting the art of Humble, in addition to horse hypnosis skills, and the main Ardhah run, in addition to presenting the Omani arts sung by the folklore teams in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi.
