Muscat: The InterContinental Hotel Muscat concluded Giving for Good events and initiatives in collaboration with IHG Hotels and Resorts worldwide. The events took place in September with four weeks commitment towards good causes, support of environment and sustainability, community work, as well as health & wellbeing. IHG has dedicated the entire month on a global basis to giving back and to work towards their #IHGJourneytoTomorrow goal for improving the lives of 30 million people around the world.
Throughout September, IHG colleagues had the opportunity to spend their time in areas such as skills training, disaster response, food security and caring for our planet.
It was a chance for everyone to use IHG global scale to collectively make a positive contribution, drive lasting change and show the world what True Hospitality for Good means to all of IHG Hotels & Resorts.
Since 2018, IHG is proud to celebrate Giving for Good month and enabled corporate and hotel colleagues worldwide to provide nearly 350,000 acts of volunteer service within their communities.
Among the tasks carried out by the Intercontinental Hotel Muscat:
- Donation of 1 OMR to the charity on food & beverage purchase
- Daily newsletter for energy saving tips by engineering department
- Medical camp/health screening session
- Fitness / Yoga session for colleagues with a healthy juice counter and snacks
- Housekeeping celebration week
- Beach cleanup with community team
- Visit of school for special need children
- Planting trees in the hotel garden
