Now pay parking fees on weekends also in parts of Oman

Muscat: All motorists will now have to pay fees to park their vehicles in Nizwa Souq from Thursday (Including weekends), October 6, 2022, Al Dakhiliyah Municipality announced on Wednesday.

"Due to the growing number of vehicles and for regulatory reasons and to reduce random parking, the Al Dakhiliyah Municipality announces the activation of the paid parking system in Nizwa Souq, starting from Thursday, October 6, 2022," the Municipality said in a statement .

The timings for calculating parking fees are limited to two periods daily, during weekdays, as follows:

1- Saturdays to Thursdays from 7 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 9 pm.

2- On Fridays from 7 am to 11 am and from 4 pm to 9 pm.

It is possible to book slots through the short message service (SMS) containing the vehicle's plate number, space plate code, space time required in minutes (30,60,120 ) to 92991.

The company managing the parking lots states that the reservation service will be available through the MAWQIFI app and the website.
