Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Sunday issued three Royal decrees reading as follows: Royal Decree No. 60/2022 on delegating climatic affairs specialisations to the Environment Authority from the Civil Aviation Authority. Article (1) delegates climatic affairs specialisations to the Environment Authority from the Civil Aviation Authority, as per the annex attached to this decree. Article (2) states that all allocations, assets, rights, obligations and holdings of climatic affairs shall be transferred from the Civil Aviation Authority to the Environment Authority. Article (3) states that employees of the Civil Aviation Authority who are specialised in climatic affairs shall be transferred to the Environment Authority, along with their same financial grades. Article (4) replaces the phrases “Civil Aviation Authority” and “Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Civil Aviation Authority”, and “Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority”, wherever they might occur in laws and Royal decrees related to climatic affairs with the phrases “Environment Authority” and “Chairman of the Environment Authority”, as per prevailing circumstances. Article (5) cancels the annex of climatic affairs specialisations attached to the Royal decree No. 85/2020 and cancels all that contradicts this decree or contravenes its provisions. Article (6) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its data of issue. Royal Decree 61/2022 endorses Oman’s joining the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism. Article (1) approves the Sultanate of Oman’s joining the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism, in accordance with the version attached to this decree, subject to the reservation about the provisions of clause (1) of Article (23) of the above-mentioned convention. Article (2) instructs the departments concerned to deposit the aforementioned convention’s Accession Document in accordance with its provisions, without prejudice to the above-mentioned reservation. Article (3) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue. Royal Decree No. 62/2022 conducts placements and appointments in the diplomatic corps. Article (1) transfers the following to the general diwan of the Foreign Ministry: 1. Yousef Issa Ali Al Zedjali, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation. 2. Article (2) transfers Badr Mohammed Badr Al Manthri, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Lebanese Republic, and appoints him as Oman’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It also transfers HH Sayyid Nizar Al Julanda Majid Al Said, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Indonesia, and appoints him as Oman’s Ambassador to the Italian Republic. Article (3) appoints Maithaa Saif Majid Al Mahrouqi as the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany; Talal Sulaiman Habib Al Rahbi as the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil; Hilal Abdullah Ali Al Sinani as the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the Republic of Tunisia and Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Said Al Sa’eedi, as the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the Lebanese Republic. Article (4) grants the following the designation of “Ambassador” and appoints them as stated below: 1. Plenipotentiary Minister Abdulghafar Abdulkarim Issa Al Balushi as the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. 2. Plenipotentiary Minister Saif Nasser Rashid Al Bada’ei as the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the People’s Democratic Republic ofAlgeria. 3. Plenipotentiary Minister Ahmed Ali Said Al Rashidi as the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. 4. Plenipotentiary Minister Mahmoud Hamad Nasser Al Hassani as the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation. 5.
