Muscat: With the National Day holiday announcement expected any day now, companies and hotels in the Sultanate have begun promoting a host of offers and discounts for residents and tourists in the country.
Oman celebrates its 47th National Day on Saturday, November 18, and establishments in the country have several offers to woo people into visiting them before, during and after the weekend.
One of the best offers comes from Oman Air, the Sultanate's national carrier. They're promoting a very unique opportunity for residents who were born on November 18.
"If you were born on November 18, Oman's National Day, we will make it extra special," said Oman Air in a tweet. "You get Business Class lounge access at Muscat International Airport, 18 per cent discount on on-board duty free purchases and 18kg extra baggage allowance. All you need to do is travel on November 18, 2017."
In addition, Oman Air are also offering discounts of up to 47 per cent in the build-up to the 18th of this month.
Phone and internet operators in the nation are also trying to entice customers into giving them business.
Ooredoo, one of the country's two mobile network operators, is offering their Shababiah customers 50 per cent extra credit. All subscribers need to do is recharge for OMR5 or 10, and receive 50 per cent extra credit, which is valid for two weeks from the date of recharge.
In addition, Awasr, one of the Sultanate's newer arrivals, is offering faster internet speeds to its customers.
"Celebrating the 47th National Day of Oman, Awasr is giving 47 Mbps to all its home fibrenet customers for the remainder of November," said the company on Twitter, wishing its customers a Happy National Day.
With Oman's tourism season also entering its traditionally busy period, the Millennium Resort in Mussanah also has a special offer for those looking for a weekend getaway: Residents and tourists who wish to stay at the resort on November 18 can book their stay for just OMR47.
"Special 47th Oman National Day Offer for the 18th of November," tweeted the resort. "Starting from OMR47 Net. Inclusive of one night stay for 2 adults, deluxe room, brunch on Saturday November 18, breakfast on the next day."
Those who wish to enjoy a great dining experience closer to Muscat, though, might want to swing by the Jungle Restaurant in Qurum Park, who are offering a 47 per cent discount on the 18th to celebrate Oman's National Day.
The Holiday Inn Muscat is also offering people a great deal: A base price of OMR47 is all residents and tourists have to pay, if they’re staying between November 16 and 18, or between 23 and 25. The offer is valid until November 25 this month, and includes accommodation of up to two adults and children, buffet breakfast for two adults, and free meals for children.
For those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Al Nahda Resort and Spa are offering people the chance to relax in one of their executive suites for just OMR50. This includes free tennis sessions, gym access and a buffet or a la carte lunch option at Khalab restaurant, and is valid on all stays from November 1 to 30.
Local fitness chain Hype Fitness is also offering people a chance to begin a healthier lifestyle this National Day by offering discounted deals ahead of November 18.
Curiously enough, Sofitel Dubai are offering all Omani nationals visiting Dubai a chance to stay at the hotel for just AED785 (about OMR80) a night, in an attempt to woo more citizens from the Sultanate during the Middle East's peak tourist season.
