
Muscat: Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), visited the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) today, as part of his current state visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed toured ROHM during which he was briefed on the House, its facilities and shows, as well as its programmes and the latest equipment used in the world music shows. He also viewed the ROHM unique architectural designs creatively combining Omani architectural and cultural legacy with the modern architectural pattern.
ROHM staged a concert for the UAE President which was performed by the Steel Band and the Operetta Troupe of the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO).
At the conclusion of his visit to ROHM, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, signed the Senior Visitors' Register. In his word, the UAE President expressed his happiness at visiting ROHM and enjoying the concert. He said ROHM blends tradition with modernity in a refined and vibrant harmony.
The UAE President affirmed that the arts draw a global common language and a link connecting cultures. He added that arts are an important means of promoting human values, particularly communication, peace, tolerance and coexistence among peoples, which are the same values enjoyed by the Sultanate of Oman.
