Font change will make licence plates clearer, says Royal Oman Police

Muscat: New vehicle number plates in Oman will have a different font, Royal Oman Police (ROP) said on Monday.

However, the ROP clarified that no changes will be made in the shape, colour or fees to get one.

“The new modified number plates will be clearer,” ROP tweeted.

On its official twitter account, ROP said that it is not compulsory to change the currently used number plates, while the new ones will be granted to people when registering a new vehicles, when transporting a vehicle which doesn’t have the previous plates, or in case of losing a plate.
