Oman-Norway Business Forum explores trade, investment opportunities

Muscat: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) organised the Oman-Norway Business Forum on Tuesday. Present at the forum were Omani and Norwegian businessmen.

The forum aimed at exploring trade and investment relations between the two countries. It also discussed establishing trade partnerships among businessmen in both countries.

The forum also focused on augmenting the volume of trade exchange in general, as well as laying emphasis on oil and gas sectors, and energy solutions in particular.

Visual presentations were given during the forum covering diverse opportunities and potentials of both countries.

OCCI reviewed economic relations between the two sides. It also underscored the importance of promoting rates of trade exchange. The volume of trade exchange surpassed OMR5.6 million during 2021 compared to OMR3 million in 2020.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion also reviewed “Invest in Oman” service. The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones also gave a presentation highlighting opportunities available at the economic zones and free zones in Oman.

Meanwhile, the Norwegian side also presented opportunities and incentives offered by Norway in areas of investment.

On the sidelines of the forum, B2B meetings were held between Omani and Norwegian businessmen with the aim of exchanging expertise and familiarizing with investment opportunities in both countries.
