Muscat: Indian Embassy in Muscat will be organising an Exhibition of Indian and Omani portraits and paintings at the Omani Society for Fine Arts, Muscat, from November 7 to 13, 2017 as part of celebration of 70 years of India's Independence. The exhibition is also dedicated to celebrate the 47th National Day of Oman and the exhibition will have exhibits showcasing the high-level political exchanges between the two countries.
The Exhibition will consist of portraits of prominent Omani and Indian leaders and paintings of arts and crafts of Oman and India, made by Indian artist, Mr. Sedunath Prabhakar.
Besides, 30 paintings made by Indian artists based in Muscat, depicting unique and representative places and people from 29 states and Delhi, the capital of India, will also be on display in the exhibition.
Mr. Sedunath Prabhakar, who is presently based in Melbourne, is an inspired and well known Indian painter. He hails from Kerala state of India. He discovered his passion for art and painting in his early childhood.
Mr. Sedunath Prabhakar will be organising a four day workshop on during November 8 to 13, from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm. Aspiring painters interested to participate in the workshop may register their names directly with Omani Fine Arts Society. A batch of 15-20 painters will be selected by Omani Fine Arts Society. Materials will be provided at the venue.
The embassy has been organising a series of cultural, economic and community events as part of celebration of 70 years of India's independence, including, dance and music performances, essay and quiz competitions, seminars and workshops with a view to highlight the journey of India as a nation since it independence in 1947.
