Salalah: The second edition of Salalah Cycling Tour in Dhofar Governorate, organised by Dhofar Municipality in cooperation with Oman Cycling Association concluded, yesterday, with the participation of seventy cyclists from within and outside the Sultanate.
In the final and fourth stage of the competition organised for 116 kilometres, cyclist Mohammed AlWahaibi from Salalah Club secured the first place followed by cyclist Super Shock from Thailand in the second place and cyclist Munther Al Hasani from Salalah Club in the third place.
In the overall category, cyclist Saif Al Ka’abi (UAE) secured the first place and took the “Gold Shirt”. He was followed by cyclist Jabir Al Mansouri (UAE) in the second place and cyclist Abdullah Al Hamadi (UAE) in the third place.
In the overall category of under 23 years, cyclist Abdullah Al Hamadi (UAE) secured the first place and the “White Shirt” followed by cyclist Said Al Rahbi from the team of the Royal Army of Oman in the second place, and cyclist of Salalah Club, Mohammed Al Wahaibi in the third place.
In the overall ranking of teams, the first place went to the UAE team followed by Cycle Com team in the second place and the team of Thailand in the third place, respectively.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsin Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality honoured the winners in the race and the entities supporting the second edition of Salalah Cycling Tour.
