From graduates to Engineers, Worley’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a success

Worley creates opportunities in supporting and developing great minds in the energy transition, climate change, data automation, and circular economy.

In 2022 Worley Oman Engineering team has recruited twenty-two Omani graduates across different engineering disciplines. These graduates are undertaking an intensive graduate development program (GDP), designed for twenty-four months across all business and technical functions. During the pandemic in 2021, twelve graduates were recruited and ten completed the program in half the time (one year) and were promoted as Engineer 1 soon after.

Since the GDP was established in 2019, sixty-four graduates have received training and development. It consists of an onboarding process upon entry, as well as a buddy program designed to assist them in adjusting to their new surroundings. As part of the program, discipline mentorship and on-the-job training are also provided. To ensure continuous improvement, Worley provides staff with a coaching program and regular conversations with their leaders and mentors, as well as periodic self-assessments.

“We are very proud of our Graduate Development Program which helps our graduates build a strong foundation in their first years of employment. I have been extremely impressed with the level of dedication and enthusiasm shown by our graduates and look forward to seeing them grow within the organization,” said Patrick Tranter, Worley Vice President of Oman Operations

To celebrate these achievements and recognize the hard work and efforts put in by the graduates, Worley held a graduation ceremony on August 30th, 2022. Seeing the benefits of the program will make newly hired graduates more eager to participate and finish their development program.

A job well done by all.
