Muscat: Provision of integrated residential complexes with modern specifications and different sized buildings to provide stability for families is among the major objectives of Sorouh Initiative for Integrated Residential Neighbourhoods.
The initiative represents one of the pillars of housing policies in the Sultanate of Oman.
Within the framework of this initiative, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning will offer five new sites during this month (September 2022) for real estate developers. Those locations are distributed among the governorates of Musandam, Dhofar, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, North Al Batinah and South Al Batinah.
The new neighbourhoods will be set up based on the system of a partnership agreement with real estate developers.
Eng. Masoud Said Al Hashmi, Director General for Real Estate Development told Oman News Agency (ONA) that these types of integrated projects are provided with all necessary and modern services.
Al Hashmi added that the first project implemented within this initiative is “Hai Al Naseem” and it contains 1,000 housing units, divided into 320 apartments, 120 villas and 475 twin-villas.
“Hai Al Naseem” is set up on an area of 350,000 square metres. In this project, the real estate developer is tasked with building the infrastructure and services within the boundaries of the project, while the government provides services beyond its boundaries.
He said that housing units of “Hai Al Naseem” project will be handed over to citizens in May 2023. Applications for those units were open during March 2022 for people eligible to receive residential land plots.
