Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman's program accompanying the World Cup Qatar 2022 aims to promote Muscat as a main and approved city to receive World Cup fans, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism said during the press conference.

According to Oman News Agency (ONA) the press conference held by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has begun to reveal the details of Oman's programme accompanying the World Cup Qatar 2022 and its preparations in cooperation with government and private agencies and institutions.

His Excellency Azzan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism and Chairman of the Steering Committee for the management of the programme confirmed that the Sultanate of Oman supports the efforts of the sisterly State of Qatar to make hosting the tournament a success through many areas of cooperation.

His Excellency indicated that the objectives of the programme are to promote Muscat as a main and approved city to receive the World Cup fans, and to provide an accessible and exceptional experience for the masses coming to Oman.

lt. Colonel Ahmed bin Said Al Ghafri, Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Directorate General of Passports and Civil Status, clarified that the advantages of the World Cup fan visa to enter the Sultanate of Oman for Haya card holders is that it is a free multi -trip visa enhanced with the feature of extraction on arrival and a validity period of up to 60 days.

"The Haya card holder is allowed to accompany his first-degree relatives residing in the Sultanate of Oman, and change the card to a visa of another category while in the Sultanate, according to the applicable requirements," Al Ghafri added.

Dr. Khalid bin Abdulwahab Al Balushi, Senior Director of Government Affairs at Oman Air, said that the prices for booking one-day flights start from OMR 99 for economy class and OMR 305 for business class, during the World Cup matches from November 20 to December 3, 2022.

Al Balushi added that to encourage citizens, special prices have been provided starting from OMR 49 for economy class and OMR 155 for business class.
