Instagram community features picture of a camel taken in Oman

Muscat: For the first time, a picture from Oman was featured on the @Instagram official account as part of its photography series 'Weekend Hashtag Project'.
A photo of a camel standing in the middle of a road in Salalah by Dubai-based photographer Hussain Ujjainwala was recognised by the Instagram community on Tuesday and also selected as one of its most favourite submissions.
Based in Mumbai, India, Hussain told the Times of Oman, "I was heading towards Nabi Ayoub's Tomb when I came across a big herd of camels nearby and I decided to get out and take some pictures. As I was heading back to the car, I saw a camel standing still in the middle of the road and that's when I captured this picture."
Only five hours after the image was shared on the photo-sharing mobile app, more than 550,000 people 'liked' it.
Asked about his feelings about the achievement, Hussain said he did not expect that his "simple" photo would be featured by Instagram's international account.
"From terrains of rocky mountains to surreal deserts and breathtaking seascapes, Oman is a dreamland for any photographer," the 22-year-old photographer said, adding that he had not seen any place as diverse like the Sultanate in terms of landscape.
Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated themes and hashtags chosen by Instagram’s Community Team.
This week, Instagram official account, which is followed by 132 million people, has asked it's community members to give an insider's look into their communities under the tag #WHPLocalLens.
