Muscat: The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz) has announced that it will stop printing and receiving all paper-based transactions and documents at the One-Stop Shop in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (Sezad).
This environment-friendly initiative aims to combat the use of paper documents in the different zones, overseen by Opaz. As well, it serves the efforts toward digital transformation and accelerating the process of transactions.
This initiative aims to stop printing and receiving land usufruct applications or any other documents or publications provided by the one-stop shop in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm to investors. It also seeks to enhance Opaz efforts in preserving the environment by minimising the print and use of paper-based transactions.
The environment-friendly initiative enables investors to easily obtain all documents and publications that have been converted into electronic copies by scanning the QR code from the tablets placed at the One-Stop Shop or downloading them from the Opaz website. Getting electronic copies will minimise the need for printing the documents and allow investors to save the documents digitally on their computers or phones and have easy access at any time. Further, such initiative also contributes to facilitating procedures for investors and accelerating the completion of transactions at the one-stop shop in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, in addition to ensuring business continuity.
It is worth mentioning that Opaz accords great attention to improving the standard of services provided to investors, meeting their aspirations, as well as enhancing their experience in digital transformation with Opaz. In this context, Opaz has launched, over the past years, a number of electronic services that have greatly contributed to facilitating investors’ access to different services provided online without the need to visit the Opaz office in Muscat or Sezad’s building in Duqm.
