School girl run over in Muscat Governorate

Muscat: A 16-year-old female student was run over by a vehicle while crossing the road in Muscat Governorate. The incident happened on Sunday, September 4, 2002, the first day of the new academic school year in Oman.

Confirming the incident to Times of Oman, the Royal Oman Police said that it received the report of the accident at around 10.44 am on Sunday.

The 10th grade student, Hoor Bint Hatem Al-Sidiya was run over by a vehicle, which led to her death. She was dropped by her school bus in front of her home in Mabela.

It is worth noting that today, Sunday, September 4, 2022, is the first school day for students in the Sultanate of Oman.

The school where she was studying mourned her death. In twitter, the school Umm Waraqah Al-Ansari School, said: “The school administration and the faculty mourn the student, Hoor Bint Hatem Al-Sidiya, who was enrolled in the tenth grade, she passed away today. The school extends its deepest condolences and sympathy to the student’s family.”
